When this all ends!
When this current situation ends, and it will, there will be winners and losers and I don’t mean people who survived or died. Winners and losers should better be described as losers and non-losers.
All the statements made here are my take on info generally found on the net, I can’t guarantee its 100% accurate but I feel sure there are some underlying truths.
Yes argue/correct/dispute my figures but its the underlying point i want to get across.
A few examples,
Richard Branson, a businessman, net worth about £4,000,000,000 (billion) has a private island and uses it as a tax haven for his companies, pays minimal taxes for year after year but now wants a government bailout help………………………………….when this ends LOSER
Lady GAGA, entertainer, net worth $320,000,000 Works with a charity and WHO to raise money to buy protective equipment for health workers. So convinces the general public to donate their money but takes credit for the money………………………………When this ends LOSER
Disney corporation, registers its ships under the Bahamas flag and is not bound by USA minimum wage laws, pays minimum taxes but now asks US Gov for bailout………………….. When this ends LOSER
U2, Irish rock band, appear to have donated £10,000,000 of their own money to purchase PPE equipment for front line staff……………………………………………………………. When this ends NON LOSERS
George Clooney and wife, pledged $1,000,000 of own money to assist the NHS and the Lombardy region of Italy……………………………………………………….. When this ends NON LOSERS
Various singers performing web concerts to help us poorer people get through the situation, later we will find the videos plastered with adverts on youtube which we all pay for when we purchase products, Of course the "artists" will take a cut of the add revenue as they own copyright...........LOSERS
Bill Gates, net worth $100,000,000,000 (billion) is donating a few billion( exact not specified) to fund laboratories fighting corona virus, donates about 40% of income to charity/causes, about $40,000,000,000 in the last 20 years…………………………………………. When this ends NON LOSER
Jeff Bezos, Amazon company worth $1,000,000,000,000 trillion$ , personal net worth $114,000,000,000 (billion) donated $67,000,000 million in 17years most as a tax write off. Income last year $11,000,000,000 billion and paid no US federal taxes Now asks the public to contribute to a fund to support his employee’s …………………………………………………….When this ends LOSER
These are just a few examples, there are hundreds more which fall into both camps.
All these companies/persons income came from you and me, yes I enjoyed watching the films, listening to the music (but not actually Lady Gaga), using the software, using the services but ultimately the money came from you and me. Now I have never objected to anyone making large/obscenely large amounts of money but to now ask me to DONATE more through a government bailout or charity is to sum it up in a few words TAKING THE PISS.
