After about 10 years it appears our new Medical Centre will be opening this friday, 14th. It has been a long time coming, especially after it was discovered the original architect had not allowed for wheel chair access, so all doors had to be changed. This meant work has been stopped for a number of years while blame could be apportioned. I was staggered to learn of this good (?) news after a visit to the old centre this morning. Apparently the staff do not think it will be anywhere near ready for the move. The only parking will be on the street, so that should be fun on Market day (Must make a note not to make an appointment for any thursday!), where as the old one had a car park. Presumably any close parking spaces will be designated for Ambulances.
As I drove slowly past this morning I could see there was a huge piece of cladding still needed to be put in place. I hope they have not used the sort which caused such a catastrophic disaster in a Tower Block in UK....
