Rio Almanzora

I was talking to a Spanish neighbour this week and she asked me were I walked, I said on the rambla.  She said, no es una rambla, es un rio.  It reminded me of this photo in Palmera bar in Arboleas.  I wonder when it was taken and when it stopped being a rio

Yes, I also wonder as one of the Old Fellas in my village said he learnt to swim there while his father was fishing in the river.  He was then 84 and that must have been at least 10 years ago.  I know he went down there via donkey as there were no cars and no tarmac roads back then up here.
