Planning ahead

There are a lot of vaccines now in the pipeline and the EU has ordered over 1 billion, so there should be enough to go round.
So I can now think of re-booting my travel plans.

Yesterday I ordered on-line my replacement EHIC card.
My current one is still in date but apparently we have to get a new one.
They promise to deliver it before 31st December.
What I find amusing is that as a UK pensioner resident in Spain, but not paying UK tax I will be able to use the new card to get free medical cover anywhere in the EU, paid by the UK,
BUT UK residents will not be able to use their EHIC card after 31st December.
Plus I can drive in the UK with my Spanish licence without requiring an International Driving Permit, but a UK resident cannot drive in the EU unless they have an International Permit.

Roll on Brexit.

Of course I may have problems getting into the UK with all the queues of lorries.
