In the 60s came 1A1998YM3B-9 G.U.N.T.E.R from Lost in Space, remember “ DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER” wasn't really a catchy name was it?
In The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy appeared MARVIN the paranoid android, one forgetable one was twinky from Buck Rodgers, but he/it/she was an annoying little git.
Then we moved to the real thing, Honda's ASIMO.
But things have moved on a bit now by about a million %, a company called Boston Dynamics have a couple of robots, Atlas, Handle & Spot the dog. At Christmas they put this video out, Google
