Strong suggestions in the media, reporting remarks by the President, that we could soon be facing stronger restrictions, including not being able to cross municipal boundaries.

Yes, I noticed a large convoy heading into Albox because the tins of dog food are a centimo cheaper than Arboleas Coviran

Spain has received the first batch of the Moderna vaccine.
We are due to receive 600,000 in the next 6 weeks, of which Andalucia should receive around 20,000 a week.

Spain is currently receiving 350,000 Pfizer vaccine each week, which will be around 70,000 for Andalucia.

Therefore Andalucia will receive around 90,000 each week, which will be sufficient for around 70,000 people each week with the first dose, given that they are holding back 20% to cover possible delays in delivery when they have to give the second dose.
Obviously the true vaccination rate is 45,000 a week, taking into account the medium term issue of requiring a second dose.

The double dose will give around 95% immunity for a long term, possible 12 months.

But clearly this will be a long process and some time until they can start phase 2, which will be most of us.

The Aztec Zeneca vaccine should be approved in 2 weeks time, but as yet no information about the number of vaccines we will receive, and when.
There is also hope for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine which should reach approval stage soon.

There has been a massive rise in infections across Spain (35,000) following the holiday spike.

However deaths remain low at around 200.
Whether this is due to the fact that doctors have better treatment, or because there is more resistance in the community, or because people are getting a lower viral load due to social distancing and masks.. we do not know.

News that for those who have had the virus there is around 85% resistance which can lasts for many months, but that people will probably still be infections to others.

Given the rise in infections, and the rise in hospitalizations, I would be surprised if on Friday/Saturday we do not hear that at midnight on Sunday we will face harder restrictions, including municipal boundaries being closed.
