Goods to UK?

Has anyone sent a package to UK since Brexit?
My son wants a part for his electric guitar but the company do not send to UK but they do to Spain.  I will be paying duty on it if it comes to me.  If I then repackage it and post to UK, will a further duty be charged as UK is not in EU?

Usually if you write on the customs declaration - green sticky thing - "Gift" it will not incur any duty - but that was U.S. to U.K., Hong Kong to, during Britains stay in the EU. Might depend on it's value though, put spare part, 10 euro or whatever and it will probably be OK.

This years rules still are being decided ad hoc  :whistle:

The value is 303 euros, so it may incur payment.  I think I'll tell him to look and see if he can get it from Ebay, at least they'll deliver to UK

Probably.  I know he has several, both electric and ordinary.  It is a new bridge and I think it's for one of the electric ones-
He has decided to leave it for a while until things become clearer as to what needs to be paid.

Precisely!  I wonder how many in a year's time would still vote to leave, as their vote now starts to bite them in the bum?
There was a snippet on BBC this morning saying how the Brit shops across the EU are starting to run out of supplies.  Apparently every product requires a separate set of documents.  With possibly up to 100 on a lorry, that will be a nightmare.

A friend ordered some shoes from a UK company.  She got sent a form from Madrid, very lengthy, and only when she has filled it in will they release the goods and tell her how much tax she has to pay

I placed an order with Amazon de and it transpires it is with Royal Mail so must be coming from UK! :angry:

That is annoying Roscoe.  I have been told Amazon Italy is good.  Surprised there is no Amazon Ireland - I bet there will be soon

A F/B friend in Wisconsin sent me some home made fudge from the US.  I got the same form to fill in Judi and filled it in and returned it.  Trouble was, it was for a business, not an item from one friend to another.  I am still waiting for it to arrive and do not want it now.  I imagine it will be walking down from Madrid if it hasn't been binned as it will be very mouldy by now.
