The best Walk for Life yet and still counting.

The annual Walk for Life in Arboleas was on Saturday 4th May. 240 people registered to walk or run and many more came to cheer them on staying on for the party afterwards.  The conditions were perfect, not too hot and the forecast rain never happened.  Cecilia Molina Verdú cut the tape on behalf of Spanish cancer charity AECC. 

The report on the walkers, runners and winners is on the Walk for Life website at walk4lifearboleas.com. The Walk for life team have been collecting sponsorship money since the walk and to date it is over €11000, twice last year’s final amount.  This total was helped enormously by the following local companies.  Smooth fm raised an amazing €1812, Calida Homes with the help of the walking football team Los Amigos raised €1158, Bar Lepanto in Albox raised €812, Wavelengths hair and beauty in Albox raised €440, Dream Homes Almeria raised €375 and Albox café Scrumptious raised €371.  Sandy Blindell turned to the internet for sponsors and all on her own raised an incredible €402.

Thank you to those who ran, those who walked, those who watched and every single person who sponsored someone.  At Walk for Life Arboleas we are so grateful to our amazing local community for their incredible support for the charity.  Cancer is no respecter of persons but with your help we can make sufferers lives a little easier.

Saturday 2nd May is the date for The Walk for Life 2020.  Plenty of time for you to train for the event and get your sponsors lined up.
