That's interesting. Back then there would have been no tarmac road to my village and many of the men folk had gone to other countries to find work as there were no jobs here. The women had to knuckle down and work the land in order to survive, with the eldest child, if a girl, looking after her siblings, if a boy, helping his mother on the land.
Times were very hard for the people of Andalucia under Franco as they refused to submit to him. Families were split apart and grudges still remain to this day..
