I am passing an old laptop onto a friend and want to remove all my files, data etc without removing office.  I particularly want to remove all messages an email contacts in Outlook and saved passwords and favorite sites etc on line.  What is the best way?

Drax

Eraser is an advanced security tool for Windows which allows you to completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns. Eraser is currently supported under Windows XP (with Service Pack 3), Windows Server 2003 (with Service Pack 2), Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, 8, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2016.

Eraser is Free software and its source code is released under GNU General Public License.

For Programs use Revo Uninstaller : https://www.revouninstaller.com/
and/or CCleaner : https://www.ccleaner.com/

Depending on what you want to remove I'd run them all ending up with revo uninstaller to get rid of ccleaner and eraser, then uninstall revo.

It used to be OpenOffice but they stopped supporting it, donating the project to Apache where it is still available and seems to be OK, I haven't used the latest version though. https://www.openoffice.org/

LibreOffice is an alternative but for a full list of "best choices"  for your/new owners needs check out

I misread this and thought you were asking how to remove FLIES from your laptop!  Methinks my eyes need testing again...
