Olympics coverage
« on: 02 Aug, 2021, 09:50:54 pm »
Why do they have one hit wonders giving their 'expert' opinions and getting pots of money?  Jessica Ennis Hill yes, Denise Lewis no.  Beth Tweddle no, only a bronze.  Steve Cram yes, Gaby Logan and Hazel Irvine brilliant and Chris Hoy, I could go on, but enough said.

I have no objection to commentary via an ex Olympian.  I do object to those who have never spent years pf pain and suffering to get there, yet are paid mega bucks to give their opinion as to why an athlete didn't get a gold, 'only' a silver or bronze.
They ALL deserve an accolade IMO!!

You are lucky to have watched it and have opinions on the commentators, if they held the Olympics in my garden (and pool) - I'd close the curtains.

... back to the Cricket..

I watch the diving and the Gymnastics but nothing else interests me...
I will be glad when it's all over though...

Must admit I just watched some Olympics - I saw that Brazil were playing Spain for the football gold medal - sadly Spain won silver but it did go into extra time : back to the cricket, where it is a lovely day in Nottingham and old Joe Root is currently 88 not out 👍
