AN INTERESTING EXPERIMENT
We know that in Spain, as in the rest of Europe, the Covid restrictions have slowly been reduced, but still remain.
Such as face masks, social distancing and hand washing, particularly in enclosed spaces.
In Spain this has created a situation in which daily infections are down to 2000.
Recent reports are that many of these infections are amongst the under 12s, for whom there are currently no vaccine, but in most cases show no symptoms.
By contrast England is following a totally different course.
This is based on a political decision, rather that scientific advice.
All restrictions were removed in one go, and there is virtually no wearing of face masks, which essentially is voluntary.
I spoke to my niece yesterday, whose company operates exhibition centres.
All are now operating as pre pandemic.
Crowds of people.
No social distancing or face masks.
Lots of free gifts being shared between people, and hospitality zones operating with no restrictions.
We know that the UK is operating at daily infections of 30,000.
So living with Covid is seen differently.
It will be interesting to see how this works in the next few months.
