INFECTIONS

The infection rate in Spain has nearly doubled in the last 2 weeks
It now stands at 132 per 100,000 as a 7 day average.

However this is much lower than every other country.

Austria 1000
Belgium 800
Ireland 620
UK 430
Germany 390
France 190

In Spain the infection rates vary greatly across the various regions, with areas such as Navara and Catalunia having much higher rates.

In Almeria (one of the highest rates in Andalucia) the figures are –
Almeria Province 87
Levante region 46

So we are doing incredibly well.
And over Spain the hospitalization situation is still good.
Hospitalisation occupancy 2%
ICU occupancy 6%

Tomorrow the Committee of Experts is meeting to discuss the situation in Andalucia.
Some regions plan to require Covid certificates to access some events (although this requires approval by the Courts).
The other issue under consideration is to require hospitality venues to close earlier at night.
All the discussion will be about what if anything should be done to avoid the increase spreading to Andalucia.
