First Prize

At the school prize giving last night my grand-daughter got first prize for languages. This bodes well for her when she goes to Aberdeen University after the summer to study, amongst other things, Gaelic and Swedish.

I wish I had her knack for languages!

You must be very proud of her Annie

Sometimes it can be a little daunting learning a new language at our age. I try to do a bit each day and some days I feel that I am getting nowhere and then my Spanish teacher and Spanish friends lift my spirits by reminding me just how far I have come.

Great news Annie.  Don't forget though, you may also have had her knack when you were her age....  We 'Old'uns have come to Spanish at a time when it is far more difficult to learn a new language.
A hint though, the best way to learn a language is to take a native speaker as a lover.

That’s a good idea Frankie, but I’m not sure that Jeff would be too happy about it!  :undecided:
