WEATHER FORECAST
Prediction from the Spanish met office
_____________________________________________________________________
For months Spain has been protected from Atlantic weather by a high pressure area.
The result is that we have had warm dry weather, and a serious drought.
The high pressure has now gone, and we can expect March and April to be unsettled.
Colder weather.
Showers and sunny periods.
The west of Andalucia will be most affected by this unsettled weather because the storms will be coming from the Atlantic, and we in Almeria are partly protected by the Sierra Nevada.
Despite the expected rains they do not expect this to entirely make up for the many months of drought.
The reservoirs and lakes are almost empty, although travelling back from Sevilla on Wednesday I noticed that there is a lot of snow on the Sierra Nevada.
