I planted some bulbs the other day and was stunned at how dry the ground was. I dug down about 6ins (15cms) and there was no signs of damp. Reading the figures, I seem to be getting my fair share of rain up here, so it must all be running off and not sinking in. Scary!

Frankie, can't dig our garden at the moment, the ground is like concrete, confuses me how weeds manage to grow through but can only get them out using a small pickaxe!

I agee! It must be one of the greatest questions of all time! I also do not understand how come those same weeds grow far faster than plants etc that I've spent time nurturing
