Warm enough?
« on: 08 Aug, 2019, 08:18:16 am »
No wonder I felt a tad warm yesterday - the high up here was 41.7C daytime in the shade and 23.6 overnight.  It's forecast to be warmer for the next few days and there are weather warnings in place for this weekend.
Make sure you all drink loads of water and when you feel you've had enough, drink more...  More people die from dehydration in hot weather, especially the elderly.

I’m coping fine during the day, but sleeping at night is a struggle.

I tend to lean against Rickety rather than elderly!
Annie, I put the A/C on in the bedroom for about 15 mins before going to bed and then put the fan on for the rest of the night.  I am usually asleep before bedroom starts warming up again...

I do that too Frankie, but I still toss and turn if I’m hot.

Yes, the last couple of nights have been quite warm. We've turned off the electric blanket around midnight and not bothered with the hot water bottle at all. Maybe it's the 24 tog duvet that's keeping us comfortable?
It's a hard life up here in the hills

Tomorrow's forecast is hot, orange alert on AEMET so all you elderlies should beware. Must admit to feeling more knackered now in the heat than I did a few years ago, so just have to accept that age takes it's toll and join the club...

The best thing about being an oldie is that we don’t have to be anywhere so can just batten down the hatches and avoid the sun.

I'm getting through my free books, down loaded onto my kindle from Amazon, at an alarming rate.  I cannot remember being on shut down for so long each day, in previous years.
I've just checked forecast for next week and there are thunder storms due next tuesday

I noticed that, and it’s a 100% chance so will probably happen.  Clean rain though, please and thank you! 😄
