Love him !!  Want one !!    Hearing the words 'chuffin cold' brought back a few memories .... people who were, shall we say, a bit slow on the uptake, were referred to as a 'chuffin muffin'.

There's a blast from the past !  Although many of these I still use now.  Like you Judi, I wasn't familiar with 'gigs', but I couldn't find 'powfagged' (exhausted), and gradely (great/fine) on the list.  We could go on for ages ....

In my part of South Yorkshire, it was called a cadgie

In my neck of the woods, if a person complained about the sort of weather we're having at the moment, or moans about the cold the response would be 'you're reet nesh'.   Blank faces all round if I say it here.

I recognised many of those words Judi!  Maybe due to having northern parents and a partner from Norn Iron (as karen used to call it)!
