1.  A María se le rasgó la falda en el camino al trabajo, así que lógicamente no pudo asistir a la reunión con el cliente.

Maria's skirt tore on the way to work, so logically she couldn't attend the meeting with the client.

2.  El detective dedujo que, dado a que era la única que había tocado la comida antes de la víctima, la suegra, lógicamente, era la responsable por el envenenamiento.

The detective deduced that, as she was the only one who had touched the food before the victim, the mother-in-law was, logically, the person behind the poisoning.

Easy word to read but probably sounds very different.  Suegra and envenenamiento are new words for me
