It is inevitable that it will spread in the region, which is why it is so important to heed the lockdown which has been imposed.

For sure, I did go to mercadona this morning and got everything I wanted even bog roll. So I can exist for 2 weeks easy without going out.
From my roof terrace this afternoon my neighbors had visitors laughing joking, some people are just insufferable, what retards.

Well over the last few days I have picked up some virus or other.

On Tuesday and Wednesday I had a very sore throat and it felt like I had a fever. Felt listless and occasionally felt just a little short of breath when going up the stairs but not sufficient to worry about

although I feel  little better today I have decided to self isolate as a precaution but don't know whether I have just picked up a routine bug or the dreaded virus.

In some ways I hope it is the corona virus because whatever I have picked up my body seems to be coping with it.

In some ways it is a pity we will not be tested for Coronavirus as the assumption is we may then have antibodies (although the powers that be are unsure about this).
As someone who is in the at risk age group I am being very careful.  Yesterday I went to the vet with my cat who has lazer treatment, leaving her there while I did a shop in Lidl before collecting her and coming home.  Today I have bought pellets for my stove (by appt.) plus petrol.  I use my debit card and not cash, making sure I insert it and withdraw it so no one else is touching it.  Then doing the same in Mercadona.
I have enough to last for at least a week and will not be going out again before then.
What are other people doing?

Been to Farmacia, then to buy coffee and then get the newspaper.  All receipts on the passenger seat ready if I am stopped.

What was available in Lidl today Frankie?  Mercadona yesterday had plenty of fresh veg, fruit, fish and meat.  Animal foodstuff was very low.

It was yesterday that I went to Lidl.  They did seem to have most items, to my surprise.  The only things I was unable to buy were the flavoured Skyr yogurts but they did have the plain ones...
No Idea which Mercadona you went to but the Olula one was well stocked.  They have put lines at the check outs, indicating how close to have your trolley to the one in front.  There were very few shoppers in there.  I suspect due to everyone being there on friday and especially, saturday, panic buying.  It will e some time before I will get over the sight of the man taking 12 packs of loo rolls, each pack having 8 rolls in.  He must have a very serious stomach problem....

In days of old
When knights were bold
And toilet paper not invented
They wiped there arse
On tufts of grass
And they were quite contented.

I saw this yesterday morning and I do hope the ones still stockpiling will take heed.  Somehow I doubt it though....
I've heard that the major supermarkets in UK are opening early just for health workers, the elderly and those most at risk.  Might not be a great idea to have those at risk in with health workers who may be carriers.

One council in the UK has reported that the drains are getting  blocked because people are using wipes and kitchen roll.

It looks like it is outside of the Health Centre if those are the tennis courts in the background

I have just checked their website and there is no mention about it closing.  It simply gives the new closing time of 8pm...
I'm going to chance it...

I was there this morning, stopped by the police at the roundabout and asked where I was going and where I lived. Showed them the shopping in the boot and my list. Explained I was shopping for 2 neighbours also and going to the farmacia next. They did make a note of my car registration though.

The above is not April fools by the way.

Our Spanish neighbour was on his way back from Mercadona to Arboleas today when he was stopped by the GC.  They checked his till receipt and told him that, in future, as he lives in Arboleas, he should shop only at Coviran, not Lidl or Mercadona as they are in Albox. They said he was at risk of a denuncia.  Has anyone else had this experience?

Not personally but we received a report yesterday of British from Cantoria on the way to Albox being turned around and told to go home.

The official line is that you "stay at home" - if you need essential supplies you travel as little as possible and stay within your own town.  :rules:

Getting a bit too much like a 'Police State' now in telling people where they can and can't shop. I'm all for 'social distancing' etc. but feeling 'Big Brother' is now in control makes me feel a bit uneasy. :police:

I'm all for it feeling like a 'Police State' if it means I'm kept safe from those abusing the rules however long it takes.

:undecided:
Agreed. Some people just don't like being told what they should be doing, might be something to do with their upbringing and less than strict parents.

Lmj19 ypu certainly caught me out!!!  I had o idea it was 1st April... I don't know what day of the week it is any longer let alone what month we are in...
I Shop in Lidl once ever 2 weeks as I have to take my cat to the vet for treatment then.  I leave her at vet then go to Lidl and pick her up on the way back.

Just don't like being told which supermarket/shop we should use perhaps on being a few hundred metres closer to our casa. Nothing to do with upbringing more a case of being a stubborn old git. Furthermore, I obey and respect the rules.
