Title: Mars attacks
Post by: FOGGY on 11 May, 2020, 08:13:20 am
I’ve been trying to put photos on here since I joined but it doesn’t happen. I can see the small photo where I’ve uploaded it but that as far as it gets !

Judi is more of an expert on this but I see that she uses a upload service - https://i.postimg.cc/ - then when it give you a code put it in between the image tabs {img}{/img} replacing the curly brackets as square ones []  they won't display in a message. Quick way is to click the Add Image icon (2nd row left hand side)

Other hosts are available - https://www.google.com/search?q=image+hosting+platforms

Yes you need to host it first. Postimages.org does a direct link which needs putting between  but it also offers "thumbnails for forums" which you just paste the whole code and are OK

Direct link (https://i.postimg.cc/0NThMnBV/20191101-095021.jpg)

Super  user tye image tabs on here are square.  I find getting the code in the middle of the tabs hard on a tablet so usually type my own.  On a tablet hit the key to the left of the space bar then the key to the left of Z to see the square brackets

I've been changing a couple of things with regard to the question of uploading images without the need to mess around with Google and the image hosting platforms.

This is a test: C3PO is in a dilemma
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Here's how it works:
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
In your post click on Attachments and other options as normal and choose your picture file. Then click on "(Insert Attachment 0)" This will add the attachment id line to your post.

If you click on Preview before posting the message will be Attachment has not been uploaded yet. It/they will only upload when you click on Post

Really big pictures might not work because there is a size limit, a warning will pop up to tell you. I'll check back now and again and adjust if necessary.

No, you need to click (Insert Attachment 0) next to where you chose your file. Then it inserts a line of code into the message box.

Judi you need to put the image inline not as an attachment at the bottom.
Here's how it works

Text for image if you want to describe it...

1) Choose file from your computer
2) Click Insert Attachment 0
3) Line of code appears:

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Any further text if necessary....

Click post

and that's it - the image is "inline" not at the bottom under the ruled line.  :tiphat:

And you can add  a maximum of 4 images per post up to the current size limits by using the more attachments option.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]    [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]                                                [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

and space them out as necessary

Crikey!  I assume it is Arboleas?  Incredible to think one of the Old Fellas up here (84 at at the time he told me in 2009) learnt to swim there when he was a child while his Father fished.  I doubt the water would have run as fast as this appears to be.
In the valley here passing Purchena, Olula etc, it has been running with water all year.  No idea where it is coming from though...
