Spanish example: La omisión de dicho certificado no es subsanable.

English example: There is no substitute for the aforesaid certificate. (Literally, omission of the aforesaid certificate is not rectifiable.)

 :undecided: would that also be used of damaged cars, broken appliances.  I will try to remember that one
