Surely a better way would be to open all escape routes, pour cat shampoo into the toilet, place cat in same, close lid rapidly and sit firmly on it.  Then flush loo.  ignore all swearing underneath, remember it is all for the cats good. Once cistern has filled, flush once more to rinse.  Stand up and open lid, standing well back, making sure not to be in the way of escape route.  Job done!
I am a cat lover and would never do this - unless cat was very dirty.
