Looking at forecast for tomorrow I see that I am supposed to get rain around mid day tomorrow (Somntin). So, do I water in early morning or not? :undecided:
-
Well according Aemet, yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms here in the valley Frankie but don't know how it will affect you mountain folk.
-
Please let it be clean rain!
-
I am going to water the pots in the morning as they never really get watered by rain, and like Lmj19 fingers crossed for clean rain
-
I decided not to - says 100% Lets see who's right

Seeing a clear sky this morning I decided to water but the decision was taken out of my hands as the hose split. I tried splicing it with a plastic adapter but it leaked so badly I gave up. Especially as I now have blisters on my hand trying to tighten it. It all needed doing by hand and considering it is around 1,200 sq mtrs, I am doing nothing else today.... I shall be buying a new hose tomorrow....
There are a few clouds hanging onto the mountain tops of the Filabres now. I do hope we do get rain...

And big hailstones

Just been out to look for Coco - already had 39mm. No sign of Coco
-
Coco was a little damp but not too bad

Judi, we have had 0.9mm here, we were right on the edge of the storm, most of it passed us by, no hailstones either. At least what we had was clean rain, glad I watered this morning though

Thankfully it seems to be clean rain. We were in Lidl, people blocking the exits, because they wouldn’t go out in the rain.lol. Causing chaos again.
Roads flood so quickly, it’s warm and everything is drying out now.

Lots of people's cars damaged down here. We have a hole in some guttering and a garden chair and holes half way through the plastic roof that shades the entrance to the house
-
Wow, shows how the weather is so localised here
-
As per usual when I get excited at the prospect of getting rain, there was nary a drop up here in Somontin.
-
We got yours frankie, rain was great but hailstones caused some damage to shrubs and paintwork on the garden and house walls.
-
Yes, have to admit I would not have wanted it that bad!. Maybe a night long gentle shower would be perfect...
-
And the car and some of my plants. 90 minutes of hail, torrential rain, felt we where in the middle of firecrackers party. Horrendous.

It's amazing how localised the weather is here. I remember when I told a man who had a garden near my rented house, when I arrived over 17 years ago in Partaloa, that I'd bought a house in Somontin. He shook his head, sucked in his teeth and told me Somontin is Mucho Frio con Nieve. I didn't believe him and do wish now I'd listened to him. The very first winter was when I had a metre of snow, no electric and was cut off for 5 days, unable to get over the snow that the plough had dumped right in front of my car... I hadn't bargained on minus 10 when I moved here - I hadn't had that on the farm near Wivenhoe.
