The owner of Dia, Mikael Friedman, is a close associate of Putin.
He claims that this won't affect the supermarket!!!

Dia have said that he doesn't have any involvement with the supermarket.
But he happens to own an investment company that owns 73% of the supermarket.
They got their money by stealing it from the Russian people following the fall of communism.
Now they pretend to be honest business men, while supporting the Putin regime.
This UK is being slower than the USA and the EU in going after these people.
Why?
What about the owner of TUI?
He flew to Moscow recently for a meeting with Putin, along with others oligarchs.

People in UK are starting to ask the same question. It turns out only 8 (!) new Russian Billionaires have been added since the recent decision to freeze their assets!!!!! More had been denied access during the last debacle in 2014.
Gove is considering seizing property in but there could be a problem with Solicitors fighting if it was announced.

Don't worry Liz Truss the UK Foreign Secretary said today that the government are working on it. Could she mean that they are actively looking for more Russian Tory party donors otherwise they will be added to the sanctions list. Surely not? :shocked: :grin: :grin:
