Title: HP Deskjet 2540 series
Post by: Judi_bk on 28 Jun, 2024, 12:01:14 pm
HP Printer.  I have had mine a few years and it has always been good but now it adds random coloured flashes or black spots to coloured prints.  They don't show on the screen.  I have tried printing to PDF then printing but it still happens.  They are not expensive, is it time to replace it?  I do use it a lot

Forget deskjet or any other jet, very expensive on inks (unless you need colour) - go for a laser printer
I've  a Brother DCP-1612W which is wireless and does over 6,000 pages for a ink cartridge costing 16-20 euros.

I changed the Drum this year, 30 euros which included toner cartridge.

With the amount of printing I do that is a good idea

Just checked them out - I need colour and most lasers are black and white and expensive for colour.  Also colour laser printers are too big to fit on my shelf.  New Deskjet I think
