We have been on yellow alert for most of the last week AEMET and for the next 3 days also here in Cantoria, so hope the high winds give us a break soon!

The winds up here in Somontin are ferocious and have been blowing for the past 3 weeks and seem to be getting stronger.  I have really tall pine trees right beside my house, possibly over 100 ft tall, and they are terrifying as they blow in the wind.  I only hope one will fall onto the road, then maybe the Ayuntamiento might take note when I say they are dangerous.  They truly frighten me as the nearest is just 5 mtrs from my house and would destroy it if it fell onto it.

Has been quite windy round the Zurgena area for the last week or two, even lost a section of fencing but hadn't seen a yellow warning up until the one posted yesterday.

So far everything still in place!

Hope everyone remains safe.

Suggest you check AEMET Brimar as Zurgena has a yellow alert for tomorrow and Friday.

Don't think I'll be hanging the washing out tomorrow then.

I have a red alert today and tomorrow and a yellow for saturday!  I HATE this wind it is terrifying as the pine trees are being blown around, so not helped by the noise...  Oh, and just noticed I have snow flakes!  Deep joy!

Keep the snow frankie as at my advanced age I have enough just dealing with this bloody wind, can't even take the dogs out this afternoon because of it. Not fearful for their safety but I am mine, to think that not that many years ago I used to love walking out in blustery winds (man against the elements) now frightened of getting blown over, age and disability have a lot to answer for!

Just a reminder that we are always looking for more people to contribute to the weather stats.  All you need is a Min/Max thermometer (Amazon) and a rain gauge (Longos - green plastic funnel)

Thankfully the snow yesterday was just a few flakes.  Overnight temps have dropped and seem to now be around 5C.  Have put winter duvet on the bed this morning so it will probably turn really warm now.
The good bit of news here is that the wind speed seems to be dropping.  I may be able to do a bit of weed killing later (my life is such an exciting one).
I do know what you mean about being concerned about falling, jimmymac.  After my very nasty one at the beginning of December last year resulting in a fracture in my neck plus other nasties, it is now one of my major concerns and I keep my phone on me at all times now.

Life is just so exciting as one gets older frankie especially on bad weather days! However, the forecast looks a lot better windwise for the next week anyway. Take care...

The wind had dropped sufficiently for me to get the ladder out and cut back my grape vines.  Sadly, it is now picking up again and I've come inside for a coffee and brandy, so it does have it's compensations.
