Whilst making a bit of sense of the snow article I came across cuajar which isn't in most dictionaries and the translate app says is to curdle... does snow curdle?
However I found the word in my 3 inch thick Oxford Spanish Dictionary and as well as meaning curdle (milk), it is to clot or coagulate (blood) and for snow to settle (which is more appropriate for the weather report).

Thank you, if it does I shall try this on my Spanish near neighbour Dolores. Very Arbolean accent so should be fun
