Title: Local Elections
Post by: Roscoe on 25 May, 2019, 09:46:25 am
We have only had one candidate come calling, the rest seem to only drive around with speakers blaring instead of having face to face dialogue!  Are we alone in this?

they dont do door to door campaigning they tend to hold meetings or rallies

I seriously hope the PP dont get in here in Albox, the leader is not someone we want.

The Mayor and six councillers have been going door to door on some estates in Arboleas this week.
They have a list of who is eligible to vote and those are the houses they called at.
They will call again coming up to the next election. Im sure.!!

I get them all come to my gate.  I get enough pens, fans, notebooks etc to last until the next election.  I am actually being picked up today so I don't even need to drive up to the village.  Forgot to ask how I'd get back down again....

I'm sure they are very helpful. They'll even show you where to put your cross, or which voting slip to stuff in the box!

Not so, Knowall.  I made my own decision after being given envelopes by most parties, prior to today.
Raymondo, can you believe I had to make my own coffee etc(!) when I was dropped off home.

I've voted in all the local elections since I arrived 15 years ago.  This morning I handed over my A4 sheet with my NIE on and they were not at all happy with it and asked for my card.  When I said I did not have one, it looked like I would be turned away.  I then produced my driving licence and that made everything OK.  They wanted something with my photo on. I'm sure they did not query it last time.
Anyone else have this problem?

We always take our passports, so no problem.

We always take our passports as its photo ID that's needed. A woman in front of us this morning couldn't understand why they wouldn't accept a photo of her passport on her phone as proof..🙄

I took a certified copy of my passport but that would not do either, even though I have shown it to the Guardia when I've been stopped without problem.  It was not the first time I'd voted and have never had this problem before.
