Not been in to investigate of course but a look at the "background" says:
Quote
Action is a Dutch international discount store chain with a majority ownership held by British private equity firm 3i, with more than 80% of the shares. It sells low budget, non-food and some food products with long shelf lives. Action operates stores in eleven countries — Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy and since 2022 in Spain and 2023 Slovakia. Action, with over 2,300 stores and 80,000 employees, generated €8.9 billion in net sales in 2022

Certainly a lot of money coming into the town

General Discussion / Walk for Life Win Prestigious Award
« Last Post by Judi_bk on 30 Jun, 2024, 02:44:00 pm »
At a lavish awards ceremony in Zurgena to celebrate and recognise companies, people and associations who have made a difference in the regions of Valle del Almanzora and Los Vélez, Walk for Life were presented with a prestigious award.
This annual event was organized by the communications group of La Voz de Almería Cadena SER and Los 40 and it was the first time the two regions have been awarded jointly. There was just one recipient in each of nine categories across both regions.
Walk for Life’s Award was in the category of Associations.
President Irene Lee-Barber and Vice President Claire Harper accepted the award from Arboleas Mayor D. José Juan Ramos Ramos.
In her acceptance speech Claire thanked Arboleas City Council “for the cooperative work they selflessly offer us throughout the year and especially with our annual walk, which is the largest charity fundraising event in our area”. She also thanked “all the local companies that support us continuously” and added, “Our biggest thanks has to go to all the people in our community who get involved in our events and raise an incredible amount of money that allows us to continue to offer support to individuals and families battling cancer. On behalf of all the volunteers of Walk for Life, we would like to say that without the work of everyone it would not be possible to make this great work a reality”.
Walk for Life were nominated by the town Hall and are extremely proud and grateful to receive this recognition.
