Hong Kong
« on: 28 Jul, 2019, 07:15:48 pm »
I've been watching the protests over the past 7 weeks. To date, considering they are now under the auspices of China, I think the police have been/are being remarkably patient.  I expect there will be none of this shown on mainland China in case there is another Revolution.  I wonder where it is all going to end.  It is currently stalemate.  The Hong Kongese cannot back down now and the Authorities cannot back down while the eyes of the World are on them.  There are almost more Press filming and reporting than protesters.

Me too Roscoe.  Just before the change over a few of us played host to the Hong Kong police choir when they came over as part of a reciprocal arrangement, for a week.  At that time many of them did not want it to happen as they felt China would want to change this vibrant place into one with more communistic values.  It may have taken over 20 years but it is happening.  I can see no good coming out of the current situation.
