peanut butter

1.  ¿Tienes hambre? - No. Me comí un sándwich de mantequilla de maní y jalea antes de venir para acá.

Are you hungry? - No. I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before coming here.

2.  Estas galletas llevan mantequilla de maní, ¿verdad? Les da un sabor buenísimo.

These cookies have peanut butter, don't they? It gives them a delicious flavor.

 :hi: Mani is Latin American Spanish for peanut.

Here in Spain it is Mantequilla de Cacahuete and usually found in shops as Crema de Cacahuete athough you can find mani used, especially in the brand name : Capitán Mani.

The saying that there is a Marmite affect meaning you either love it or hate it is set to grow as Marmite are now making peanut butter, with or without the crunch.  To my mind the sight of that spread on my morning toast would be as if someone had smeared a baby's nappy on it.
