Democracy, it's overated
« on: 28 May, 2019, 06:05:25 pm »
So I got into a casual conversation with a woman in the check out queue today.
She was bemoaning the fact that her pension had paid her so much less this month, due to the fall in the pound during the past couple of weeks. "If this goes on we will have trouble surviving", she said
Then she told me that she had had a postal vote in the UK, and had used it to support the no deal BREXIT party.

  Somebody said that Brexit was like having your library burned down by somebody who cannot read

Judi, more like someone who (  can ) read burning down the library.
Brexiteers say stop complaining , its democracy. !! But democracy doesent always work.
If 5 people democratically vote to take your I Phone its called a mugging.
Be careful what you wish for.

Churchill was supposed to have said "The best argument against Democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.”

Sadly I think he was right
