Yes Jimmymac, a big surprise there for sure. After hammering Scotland they may have got complacent. Hopefully they get their act together for the next match. ☘️🇮🇪

Yes Jimmy. Japan also beat South Africa in the 2015 World Cup and S.Africa went on to finish third behind a strong Australian side then and the champions New Zealand.

Not the most impressive performance from Ireland, but a win is a win. Well done lads. 🇮🇪

Who are your favourites Jimmymac ? Ireland got a bonus point today, but their execution needs to improve and hopefully Sexton who was injured will recovery for the rest of the tournament. The home nations are all going well and if Scotland can beat Japan well in ten days time, they will all go through to the next phase.

Shame Argentina had a man sent off so early, as 22-3 now with 25 minutes left, England have surely won this match-Argentina look tired. However, interesting all the pundits in the studio including Sir Clive Woodward and the TMO called it as a clear red card, except the Welsh referee who was only a few metres away and had a clear view of the high neck tackle.

Finest referee in the game and he only asked for clarification quite rightly  from the TMO. Thats what they are there for .
He said he could see no mitigation against a  red  card. TMO agreed Excellent refereeing.
It was a red card and england would have won regardless but they were under a lot of pressure before the sending off.
Well done to them.

You need to watch it again.
Nigel controlled the game brilliantly as he always does. Not everyone is a bigot.

I watched the entire match including the observations made by, "only" Johnny Wilkinson, Sir Clive Woodward and Lawrence Dallaglio and I guess I am only repeating what they said. Did you see it ? The referee could have been Irish, Scottish or any nationality really, they just said he was the Welsh referee that missed a clear red card. The referee admitted he did not see it, to the amazement of myself and the three ex.rugby professionaals above as he had a clear view only a few metres away. You cannot always keep your eye on the ball, can you ? The TMO came in to assist. I do not think the above rugby players are bigots either. The relationship between the TMO and the referee worked here.

Wales were offside in their winning try against Australia. The offside line was in the wrong place and the TMO did not review it correctly. The TMO was blasted, and he was openly spoken about to be from New Zealand. You may have watched that game to conclude "that not everyone is a bigot"

No need to apologise Doreen and no this is not a lecture !

Oh so you didn’t actually have an opinion, just repeating someone else. Strange.

When you know what you are talking about rejoin the debate.
My husband said once a person understands the game it’s easy to discuss the pros and cons, impossible though when someone doesn’t . 😬
