Four new doctors for Albox, Cuevas, Los Vélez and the Hospital in Huércal-Overa
The Ministry of Health has increased the workforce by 42 professionals this year

La Consejería de Salud y Familias  has appointed four new doctors in the month of November to the North Health Management Area of Almeria. Specifically, these professionals will fill vacancies in the health centres of Los Vélez (a family doctor), Cuevas del Almanzora and Albox (two pediatricians) and at the Hospital de la Inmaculada (a doctor in the Emergency Department) in Huércal-Overa

The managing director of the Health Area, José Miguel Medina, has indicated that he is waiting for new professionals to be added in the near future to improve patient care in this area of Almería, “since the La Consejería de Salud y Familias is making a great effort to get staff as stable as possible, formed into professional teams" and has recognised that it is "an area of difficult coverage in which it is hard work to retain health professionals", but that work continues on it.

Medina has highlighted that in the present year 2019 an increase of health and non-health professionals has been achieved, in their different specialities. Specifically, it has increased by 42 professionals compared to 2018, "which makes clear the effort being made to increase and stabilise the workforce."
