Covid 19 Spain
« on: 17 Apr, 2020, 12:26:09 pm »
I was hoping today that the death rate was under 500, the good news is 348 today, a really good drop.  So sorry for all the families who have lost loved ones.

I wonder how many of the figures we are being fed Worldwide will change in the same way as China has added another 50% to it's final deaths?

Don't believe any of them, as most only include hospital patients with Covid-19 positive confirmation. Obviously the total deaths for each country is much higher if the totals include those that die at home and in Care Homes etc. Trouble is that a lot of old and some younger people have underlying health problems which can contribute to their deaths, so there can never be a truly accurate figure.
Bloody morbid subject anyway. RIP.

The only way to know the numbers for certain is by collating death certificates that give Corona Virus as the cause. In the UK it would be via the Office for National Statistics, not sure what they call the equivalent in Spain.

Everything else is just guesswork so interpret it as you will.

Zurgena Town Hall have reported a case in the town and is in isolation, this is a bit too close to home.

Obviously this person has contracted this by flouting the rules, there’s a thousand reasons why but my guess is they have broken the law at this late stage, I see lots of people acting by their own rules.
Look at this debacle in London, how can anyone trust the police.

I see something worse on the horizon for U.K. if the police don’t play by the rules anarchy will rise.

And some Dick was amongst them!
We are stuck in the UK and you see more police than you ever did when crime was rife, many police walk so close that they could hold hands.
Maybe they are related to Gove or are members of the Royal family, obviously not related to members of the caring community.

Roscoe, if you have only 1 reported case in Zurgena then you are lucky.  Last wednesday when Butano Man called he told me there had been 7 deaths in Somontin and several in Purchena, Fines (which is flying a flag at half mast) and Olula.  All apparently elderly with existing problems.  Everyone up this end of the valley is wearing masks and gloves when outside.

According to our Ayuntamiento only 1 in Arboleas and that was a few weeks ago.  The person was admitted to Torrecardenas and the family put in total quarantine.  They have now been discharged and are well but still in quarantine at home

That's good to hear as mostly, the news is filled with numbers of deaths and rarely numbers of survivors...

I  have been trying to get in touch with a neighbour who has a second home opposite me.  She rang me 3 weeks ago to say her son, who lives with her, was in Torrecardinas with Covid-19.  I have been trying to get in touch with her but she does not answer her phone.
