The Guardia Civil will monitor the accesses to the municipality of Los Gallardos (Almería) from midnight this Sunday as part of the control measures that will be carried out in coordination with the Local Police to monitor compliance with the restrictions decreed by the health authority In the face of covid-19 in the town, where, in addition, a screening with antigen test will be carried out among the 325 volunteers summoned next Monday by the North Sanitary Area.

Sources from the Government Sub-delegation have indicated to Europa Press that after the local security meeting held "urgently" on Friday morning by telematic means, it has been decided to reinforce the presence of the Civil Guard in the town from it's post in Vera, which together with Turre is expected to provide coverage "24 hours" to the municipality for the duration of the measures.

The agents will be in charge of carrying out vehicle controls at the entrance and exit of the municipality, in such a way that they will verify that users are wearing a mask in case they are not living together. Likewise, they will ensure compliance with the protection measures in collective transport, either line or discretionary.

In the same way, the agents will be aware that the shops and non-essential leisure establishments respect the closing time set at 10 pm, as well as that the capacity reduced to 50 percent is maintained. The closure of public parks and the application to pedestrians who do not use a mask will also be among its tasks.

The meeting called "quickly" occurs after the Sub-delegation had "official" evidence of the letter sent by the Mayor of Los Gallardos, Francisco Reyes (Cs), to the Sub-delegate, Manuel de la Fuente, requesting a greater police presence and a once the Andalusian Government dictated the resolution by which it hardened the mobility restrictions in the municipality.

Optimism in Los Gallardos
Around 100 people are relieved after obtaining a negative result in the massive screening that has been carried out since early in this morning in the municipality of Los Gallardos, where only one person of the 300 who have been asked to take the antigen test has tested positive for coronavirus so far.

The tests have taken place in the sports hall of the municipality this morning: the health authorities have marked areas with cones and the route (in the shape of a square) in which the neighbours have queued until they arrive to an area where, in front of a table where the people who come are registered, they are assigned a number and the samples are taken.

Later, in an seated area, those who have waited receive the result to be communicated to them. According to the mayor, Francisco Reyes, who has been present to supervise the entire operation this morning, the participation of the citizens so far has been "very good."
