Covid-19 Restrictions from midnight Saturday

The new restrictions that Juanma Moreno, president of the Junta de Andalucía, announces from 8:30 p.m. come after a week in which the province of Almería has seen how the coronavirus has overflowed and has beaten all known records from the beginning of the pandemic last year.

20:31 Juanma Moreno's appearance begins by reviewing the latest measures, which came into effect on Monday.

Contagements in Andalusia have multiplied alarmingly. The advance of the third wave is very fast," says Juanma Moreno, who thinks that the second wave of coronavirus will be overcome. The infections have increased, says the president, in areas with a British presence.

Juanma Moreno says that they have asked the Government of Spain to allow them to advance the curfew at eight o'clock in the afternoon and to authorize home confinement wherever possible.

The measures announced by the president of the Junta de Andalucía:
- The perimeter closure of the autonomous community is maintained.
- Hospitality and commerce, open only until 6 pm in general.
- Four people maximum for meetings and groups, including the hospitality industry.
- You can only leave or enter the eight Andalusian provinces for just cause.

- Perimeter closure of all municipalities with a 14-day cumulative incidence rate of more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. There are 219 municipalities that will be published in the BOJA.

- Closure of hotels and leisure if the rate is higher than 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. There are 91 municipalities, and if the Government authorizes it, home confinement would be ordered.

- Advance the curfew at 8:00 p.m. if authorized by the Government of Spain. If not, it will still be at 22 hours. And it will end at 6 in the morning.

All measures will be published in the BOJA this Saturday and will take effect at midnight from Saturday to Sunday .

"These are measures that we take advised by our committee of experts and will be reviewed daily . When the municipalities limit the rates of 500 or 1,000 cases, they must limit mobility and the opening of trade and hospitality."

"They are tough and difficult measures but the experts tell us that this third wave is the worst of the one experienced so far," says Moreno. "Stay home to the best of your ability."

Moreno says that there are "20 very hard and complicated days left ." He confesses that it is a situation that "bores and despairs" and asks to be "mentally prepared" for it.

"There is a long way to go to achieve group immunity" , recalls the Andalusian president, who asks that "hope" not be lost and points out that 15% of Andalusians will have been vaccinated at this rate in May.

He announces that as of Sunday they begin to vaccinate with the second dose in the residences. And he highlights that as of Monday the supply of vaccines could be reduced to 50% for a month due to a "reordering" of production at Pfizer. "Despite this, we could continue to give the second dose to those who have the first, since we reserve 20% in case there were unforeseen events, like this one."

20:50 "Little by little we will win this difficult battle," he concludes.

Analysis of the number of cases suggests that in Almería, 35 localities are the most affected by these new measures, 17 with a higher incidence of more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days and 18 with a cumulative rate of more than 1,000 cases.

I don't think it helped matters a few days ago when the Zurgena bowling club held their annual general meeting which 30+ people attended. Members were checked on entry by someone who subsequently tested positive and all have to self-isolate.

Or supposed to do...some of whom have been seen around and about town in shops, bars etc. The bowling club consists of members from various towns in the area.  :rules:
