Porridge?
« on: 02 Apr, 2024, 02:24:26 pm »
Does anyone eat this for breakfast? I buy the stuff in the blue and white box from Mercdona and have  for around 20 years.  The last 2 that I've bought seem to have had a different taste and take longer to cook in the microwave.  Is this just me being picky? It does not seem to taste as good....  I suspect, like a lot of items, that cheaper ingredients are being used to keep cost down...

I have porridge quite often but have never tried Mercadona's - I buy Quaker oats from Sol Supermacardo in Albox.

I've bought the Quaker one now. Much more expensive.  The Mercadona one is less than a Euro...
I so hate it when companies change recipes , adding cheaper ingredients...  It doesnt take much to upset me before breakfast.

Unfortunately, it's sometimes a case of you get what you pay for.

I use Flahavans (yellow packet) Irish oats from Coviran or Sol Supermercado

My wife won’t eat any other porridge other than Scotts Porridge Oats.
