I have tried to remove a manufacturer's label from cistern and sink in my bathroom without any success.  Does anyone have a fool proof way to do it?

SOAK IT IN WARM WATER
ACETONE NAIL VARNISH REMOVER
ALCOHOL

Had the same with fridge and freezer, my cleaner put mayonnaise on it and left on for a while and it came of easy, also WD40 might work.

Thank you Clare but I tried all those and it did not work.  I'll be trying the mayo now though, Roscoe!!!

Have you tried spraying WD-40 on the labels and then leaving it on for a few minutes?  Wipe off with a damp cloth.
